COMMERCIAL ENERGY AUDIT ASSISTANCE
DRG Green Certificed Businesses with control over building and equipment upgrades in their facility are required to have an ASHRAE Level 1
energy audit if they do not meet the passing grade using DRG's Energy Rating Tool.
Participants who do not meet the passing grade must select an auditing firm that can deliver a "Targeted" ASHRAE Level 1 audit by a Registered
Professional Engineer (PE) or a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
Note: Tenants leasing space with utility bills included in their rent rate are not required to have an energy
audit
AVAILABLE RESOURCES
- Small businesses with less than 25 FTEs (Full Time Employees) and less than 10,000 sq.ft. may be eligible for a free energy audit through DRG. Check box option during certification process for DRG's consideration and response.
- DP&L commercial customers with more than 25 FTEs (Full Time Employees) are eligible for DP&L Energy Audit Rebates . This is exclusively offered for DRG Green Certified Businesses. Check box option during certification process for DP&L's consideration and response.
- University of Dayton Buildings Energy Center for low cost energy audits
- State of Ohio Sponsored Energy Audits
Exempted from Energy Audit requirement:
- LEED Certified facilities
- ENERGY STAR Certified facilities
- An energy audit was conducted in the pasy 5 years
- New construction
- Home offices
